The Session is the major policy-making body for the congregation. The Session is responsible for the overall program of the church. Elders are expected to take an active role as a member of a committee. The Session approves the budget for the church.

        Responsibilities of the Session and/or its committees include: Mission, Financial Resources, Scholarships and Memorials, Personnel, Columbarium, Worship and Membership Development, and Nominating.
  • Through the Mission Committee plans for the overall mission emphasis and interprets the special mission in which our members can be involved personally and financially. These include:
    • Proposing figures for the annual budget
    • Handle publicity for special mission offerings such as One Great Hour of Sharing
    • Process Mission requests
    • Organizing and promoting Hands on Mission such as: Mission Matters Sunday
  • Through the Financial Resources Committee the money is provided to fulfill the goals of our congregation. The tasks include:
    • Determining the investment strategy for Capital, Memorial and Endowment Funds.
    • Managing cash flow
    • Monitor Budget
    • Overseeing the work of the Receiving and Disbursing Treasurers
    • Conducting the annual stewardship campaign promoting the financial giving of the congregation
    • Create Fundraisers for Budget and community outreach
    • Promote building use for revenue
  • Through the Scholarships & Memorial Fund Committee decides on the use of memorial funds given to the church. This will include:
    • Awarding Scholarships for Youth
    • Decide use of memorial funds
    • Send thank you notes
  • Through the Personnel Committee in consultation with the pastor supervises church employees. The duties include:
    • Drawing up job descriptions
    • Yearly evaluations of performance and compensation
    • Making recommendations to Session regarding employment status and salaries
  • Through the Columbarium Committee oversees the care of our columbarium
    • Promotes and sells niches
    • Oversees Columbarium Funds
  • Through the Worship and Membership Development Committee helps to develop the gifts, talents of our members this includes:
    • Organizing preparation and serving of communion
    • Scheduling liturgists
    • Organizing Ushers and Greeters for Sunday
    • Holding new member orientations
    • Providing Fellowship events for Members
    • Scheduling special services
    • Works with staff to create meaningful worship through music and word
    • Special musical and artistic events
  • Through the Nominating Committee prepares a slate of officers to present at the Congregational Meeting held in December of each year. The slate will consist of Elders, Trustees, Deacons, and members of the Nominating Team at-large.
